Smartports and Krylbohus Partner to Develop Solar Energy Hubs in Avesta, Sweden
Smartports has partnered with Krylbohus to create solar-powered parking spaces in Avesta, Sweden. The project will include 91 solar-equipped parking spots with a total solar capacity of 1.1 MWp and battery storage of around 2.3 MW, aiming to generate approximately 0.25 GWh of electricity annually. This initiative transforms existing parking areas into local energy hubs, enhancing energy supply and reducing grid strain.

Smartports has signed an agreement with Krylbohus to develop solar-powered parking solutions in Avesta, Sweden. The initiative includes 91 solar-equipped parking spaces with an installed capacity of 1.1 MWp and battery storage of 2.3 MW.
It aims to convert existing parking areas into local energy hubs, generating about 0.25 GWh of electricity annually. The project will enhance local energy supply and minimize grid strain. Smartports will provide the capital investment under a lease-based model, allowing Krylbohus to develop properties without significant upfront costs.
