Softbank and OpenAI Invest $1B in SB Energy for Texas Data Center Development
Softbank and OpenAI are each investing $500 million in SB Energy to develop a 1.2GW data center in Milam County, Texas, expected to begin operations in 2026. SB Energy has also secured $800 million from Ares for infrastructure development and will become a significant customer of OpenAI.
In another development, GTT will provide SIP Trunking services to Constellium for connecting 15 sites in Europe and North America as part of their Microsoft Teams rollout. Additionally, Wyyerd Fiber has expanded its services to Lakeside in San Diego County, having previously entered East County by connecting El Cajon in fall 2024. Global Technical Realty has raised nearly $2 billion, with $1.5 billion from KKR and $400 million from Oak Hill Capital, for greenfield projects in markets including London, Zurich, Barcelona, and Tel Aviv.
