Solar and Battery System Powers EV Trial in Northwest Territories
ENERGY STORAGE
The Northwest Territories hosted a trial using 1800W DC solar panels connected to an Ecoflow inverter and battery storage, linked to an Easee EV charger. The setup produced approximately 25% of a standard 7kW charger's output despite limited daylight in February.
Representatives from the Territory and local Inuit community observed the test. The project, led by Easee and Subaru, showcased the viability of renewable energy solutions for electric vehicles in extreme climates. The trial emphasized the potential for renewable electrification in remote communities and the versatility of EV batteries for mobile energy applications.
