SolaX Achieves World's First UL System-Level Deflagration Test on ORI 5MWh Energy Storage System
SolaX has completed the first UL-conducted system-level deflagration test on its ORI 5MWh energy storage system, in collaboration with UL Solutions under the UL 9540A:2025 framework. The test involved real lithium-ion battery cells and simulated thermal runaway conditions, with results demonstrating effective safety mechanisms and structural integrity.

SolaX successfully conducted the world's first UL system-level deflagration test on its ORI 5MWh energy storage system, following the UL 9540A:2025 framework. The test, designed and executed by UL Solutions, aimed to simulate thermal runaway scenarios under controlled conditions.
Key observations included the activation of pressure-relief structures, intact container integrity, and no ejection of fragments. The trial emphasized SolaX's commitment to safety, highlighting the importance of rigorous testing for identifying safety boundaries in energy storage systems. SolaX plans to continue collaborating with UL Solutions to enhance energy storage safety standards.
