SOLEN SA has secured EUR 28 million to advance the Plaine Ayeme solar-plus-storage project in Gabon. This project will consist of a 30 MW solar photovoltaic facility paired with an 8 MWh battery energy storage system, located 30 kilometers from Libreville.

The financing is a collaboration between the AFRIGREEN Debt Impact Fund and BGFIBank. The project, structured in two phases, aims to deliver 60 MW of solar generation and 30 MWh of battery storage. It is supported by a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Gabonese state. The project is significant for diversifying Gabon's energy mix, reducing reliance on thermal and hydropower generation.
