SOLRITE Energy has introduced a battery-only virtual power plant (VPP) offer in Texas, partnering with sonnen. The VPP allows up to 60 kWh of sonnen energy storage per household at a rate of 12¢ per kWh for a $20 monthly fee.

This program is available for customers in deregulated utilities such as Houston, Corpus Christi, and McAllen, and is designed for both solar homeowners and those without solar systems. The initiative aims to enroll 10,000 customers by the end of 2026, providing 600 MWh of dispatchable energy. The program addresses challenges faced by stranded solar customers and offers significant backup power and energy security.
