President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi plans to visit Israel following an invitation from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite criticism from Somalia and other nations. Somaliland is also collaborating with the UAE on investments at Berbera port and seeks Saudi involvement in its development.

Somaliland is close to finalizing a trade agreement with Israel, the first country to recognize its independence. President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi indicated that while no economic deal has been finalized, a partnership agreement is anticipated soon, focusing on sectors such as minerals, oil, gas, agriculture, and energy.
Abdullahi highlighted Somaliland's lithium reserves, essential for batteries, and expressed interest in Israeli technology in exchange for access to these resources. He plans to visit Israel following an invitation from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Somaliland's recognition by Israel has drawn criticism from Somalia and other nations, including China and Turkey. The president also noted ongoing cooperation with the UAE in investment at Berbera port and hopes for Saudi involvement in Somaliland's development.
