Sonatrach of Algeria and Ghana National Oil Corporation (GNPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Brazzaville to enhance research and development in the oil and gas sector. The partnership, initiated under the African Petroleum Producers Organization, focuses on supporting hydrocarbon development for energy security and sustainable growth.

The MoU outlines collaboration on various R&D activities, including advanced seismic acquisition, digital wells, enhanced oil recovery, and exploration. Additionally, it encompasses low-carbon initiatives such as carbon reduction, hydrogen development, and waste treatment. Both parties will assess opportunities for shared quality control standards and technology exchange.
