Sonnedix has announced the financial close of its first hybrid battery energy storage project in Portugal, encompassing the Sonnedix Acail project with 28 MW of solar and 24 MW of battery storage, along with the Sonnedix Felgueira project. Solar generation is set to begin in the second quarter of 2026, while the battery systems are scheduled for operation in the third quarter.

These projects are designed for joint operation to enhance energy management and integrate renewable energy into the grid. Sonnedix entered Portugal in 2022 and operates 301.3 MW, with an additional 300 MW under construction.
