Soufflet Malt and United Breweries to Build 110,000 Tonnes Malthouse in Rajasthan, India

The first phase is set to be operational by early 2028, with plans to double capacity later. The project will create about 400 jobs, train over 50,000 farmers, and incorporate sustainable practices including zero liquid discharge systems.

Soufflet Malt and United Breweries Limited are constructing a new malthouse in South Rajasthan, India, with an initial capacity of 110,000 tonnes per year, expected to begin operations in early 2028. The facility aims to supply malt for brands like Kingfisher and Heineken, enhancing supply security for United Breweries.
The project will generate approximately 400 direct and indirect jobs, with an additional 700 roles in the supply chain. It will involve training over 50,000 farmers and sourcing up to 250,000 tonnes of barley annually. The malthouse will feature sustainable technologies, including zero liquid discharge systems.
