South Australia Rises to 4th in Global Mining Attractiveness Rankings for 2025
STRATEGIC MINERALS
In the 2025 Annual Survey of Mining Companies, South Australia has been ranked the fourth most attractive mining jurisdiction, a significant rise from 35th place in 2024. The state is also recognized as the global leader in mineral potential.
This improvement is linked to better policy perceptions and the robust performance of copper production. The investment attractiveness index (IAI) for South Australia increased by 26 points. Western Australia improved to 6th, and Queensland returned to 13th after a previous drop. Nevada is ranked first, followed by Ontario and Saskatchewan in the global rankings.
