South Chungcheong Province Outlines Vision for 50-Year and 100-Year Development Plan
South Chungcheong Province has unveiled a comprehensive 50-year and 100-year development plan, supported by over 13 trillion won in government funding and 44 trillion won in investments secured in recent years. The plan focuses on five key tasks to be achieved by 2026, including agricultural reform, carbon neutrality, future food industries, balanced regional development, and measures to address low birth rates. Major projects will include transitioning coal power to hydrogen, establishing smart farms, and enhancing marine tourism, with an additional goal of attracting 45 trillion won in investments.

South Chungcheong Province presented a 50-year and 100-year development blueprint at a meeting attended by over 120 officials, including Governor Kim Tae-heum. The province has secured over 13 trillion won in government funding and attracted 44 trillion won in investment over the past three and a half years.
The five key tasks for 2026 include: 1) agricultural and rural structural reform, 2) leading the transition to a carbon-neutral economy, 3) creating future food industries, 4) accelerating regional balanced development, and 5) implementing effective low birth rate measures. To support these initiatives, the province plans to secure 13.3 trillion won in government funding and attract 45 trillion won in investments while supporting small businesses with 1.3 trillion won in financing.
Key projects include the transition of coal power to hydrogen in Dangjin and Boryeong, establishing smart farms, and developing marine tourism. The province aims for tangible results from its regional development strategies by enhancing infrastructure and community support systems.
