South Jeolla Province aims to become the 'AI Capital of Korea' by 2026, beginning with the construction of the National AI Computing Center and a Global AI Data Center, following a KRW 2 trillion infrastructure investment. The province will enhance industrial competitiveness and innovate resident services.

Key projects include the Jangseong Fine Data Center starting in December 2025 and several other data centers in 2026. Initiatives will also promote AI transformation in key industries such as shipbuilding, steel, and petrochemicals. A mid- to long-term strategy, the 'Jeollanam-do AI Master Plan,' will be established to support these efforts.
