South Korea's Mobile Carriers Project Combined Profit Over 4 Trillion Won in 2025
South Korea's major mobile carriers, SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, are expected to achieve a combined annual operating profit exceeding 4 trillion won ($2.72 billion) in 2025, despite facing cybersecurity incidents last year. According to FnGuide, their combined revenue for 2024 is estimated at 60.91 trillion won, with operating profit reaching 4.38 trillion won, marking a 3.25% revenue increase and a 25.4% profit increase from the previous year.
SK Telecom forecasts a revenue of 17.15 trillion won and operating profit of 1.05 trillion won, down 4.39% and 42.04%, respectively. KT expects revenue of 28.24 trillion won and operating profit of 2.42 trillion won, reflecting growth of 6.86% and 199.53%.
LG Uplus anticipates revenue of 15.51 trillion won and operating profit of 901.5 billion won, increases of 6.11% and 4.46%. The companies are focusing on AI-driven business growth, with substantial investments in data centers planned for the coming years.
