South Korea's Navy Receives First Geomdoksuri-B Class Patrol Vessel
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has delivered the first Geomdoksuri-B class patrol vessel to the South Korean Navy, enhancing naval capabilities along the western maritime border. This initiative is critical for improving defense against potential threats from North Korea.

The South Korean Navy has received the first vessel of the upgraded Geomdoksuri-B class Patrol Killer Medium Rocket (PKMR) Batch-II, part of a program initiated by DAPA in 2022. The vessel features advanced combat systems, such as a 130-millimeter guided rocket system and a 12.7-mm remote-controlled weapon station, along with an enhanced anti-jamming system for electronic warfare.
It will be positioned near the Northern Limit Line in the Yellow Sea for territorial defense. Three additional vessels are scheduled for delivery by the end of this year, further strengthening the Navy's operational capabilities.
