South Whitehall Township Board Approves Code Amendments and Project Extensions
The South Whitehall Township Board has approved code amendments affecting various municipal regulations, including a shift to lifetime plumbing licenses. Additionally, a one-year extension for the Ruhe Major Subdivision project was granted to accommodate further assessments and agreements.

The South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners approved multiple code amendments impacting building, residential, plumbing, fire, and property maintenance regulations. Key changes include eliminating locally enforced provisions already covered by the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code and transitioning to lifetime plumbing licenses to minimize administrative burdens.
The board also extended the timeline for the Ruhe Major Subdivision project, initially approved on April 16, 2025, to allow the applicant, Robert Ruhe, to finalize cost estimates and agreements required by the township. Furthermore, Metropolitan Acoustics was appointed as a noise consultant for environmental assessments related to land development. Residents raised concerns about Project Atlas, which proposes six data centers that may affect local resources and quality of life.
