Southend Council Secures £3.47 Million for Heating Upgrades on Balmoral Estate
Southend Council has secured £3.47 million from the Government's Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund for significant heating upgrades on the Balmoral estate. The project, which will install ground source heat pump systems to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs for residents, is set to begin later this year, with Kensa appointed as the principal contractor. These upgrades aim to support the city's climate commitments and provide stable long-term energy solutions for residents.

Southend Council has secured £3.47 million in funding for major upgrades to council homes on the Balmoral estate. The funding comes from the Government's Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (SHF) Wave 3, supplemented by the council's Housing Revenue Account.
The project aims to install ground source heat pump systems, which are designed to lower household energy costs and improve heating efficiency. Kensa has been appointed as the principal contractor for the installation.
The upgrades will contribute to the city's climate commitments and assist residents with stable long-term energy costs. Work is set to begin later this year, with support available for residents during the upgrade process.
