Sovereign Leads R1.4 Million Road Improvement Initiative in Markman Industrial Area
Sovereign, a poultry producer, is spearheading a R1.4 million project to reconstruct Buick Street in Gqeberha's Markman area. This initiative addresses severe road degradation impacting local commerce and food safety standards.

Sovereign has committed R600,000 to a R1.4 million initiative aimed at restoring Buick Street in the Markman industrial area. This project, driven by the Markman Business Forum, addresses significant degradation of the road, crucial for local commerce but nearly impassable due to heavy manganese transport.
The local business community recognizes the importance of maintaining infrastructure, especially as road conditions have led to dust hazards affecting visibility and food processing environments. This investment reflects Sovereign's commitment to the Nelson Mandela Bay region and aims to ensure operational integrity for its cold storage facility and future processing plant plans. The remainder of the funding is being secured through local business collaboration and an upcoming golf event.
