Space Force Contracts Northrop Grumman for $398M Enhanced PTS-P Development
Northrop Grumman has secured a $398 million contract from the Space Force's SSC for the Enhanced PTS-P, set for FY 2030 launch. This project indicates a continued emphasis on secure satellite communications amidst evolving military needs.

The Space Force's Space Systems Command awarded Northrop Grumman a $398 million contract for the Enhanced Protected Tactical Satellite Communications-Prototype (PTS-P). This contract is part of the Middle Tier of Acquisition strategy and aims for a launch date in fiscal year 2030 or later.
Previous contracts for the baseline anti-jam PTS-P were awarded to Northrop Grumman and Boeing in 2021, but the anticipated launches starting in 2024 have not yet occurred. The focus on enhanced satellite communication capabilities reflects the military's response to increasing operational challenges.
