The Space Force's recent review of 60 programs has resulted in the cancellation of some lower tier initiatives and emphasized the RG-XX satellites as part of a new acquisition strategy. The RG-XX is set to serve as a commercial replacement for the eight Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP) satellites, which are responsible for monitoring and inspecting other satellites through rendezvous and proximity operations. A contract for the RG-XX is anticipated to be awarded soon.
