SpaceX Advances Starship Orbital Launch Pad at Starbase, Texas
SpaceX is enhancing the Starship Orbital Launch Pad project at Starbase, Texas, allowing for up to 25 annual launches. This expansion aims to support NASA lunar missions, Starlink deployment, and Mars exploration.

The Starship Orbital Launch Pad at Starbase, Texas, is transitioning into a major commercial spaceport, allowing SpaceX to increase its annual launch operations from five to 25 orbital missions. Recent expansions include a new launch pad, integration towers, and natural gas infrastructure for fueling rockets.
The complex, pivotal for NASA missions and Starlink deployment, features a tank farm with liquid oxygen, methane, and nitrogen, essential for cryogenic operations. Construction milestones include the installation of Ground Support Equipment and the integration tower, named Mechazilla, designed to stack and catch rockets. A successful orbital test launch is anticipated in January 2022, potentially marking a significant leap in space travel with fully reusable components capable of carrying up to 165 tons to orbit.
