Spain-France Hydrogen Pipeline BarMar Enters FEED Phase
The BarMar hydrogen pipeline project has commenced its front-end engineering design (FEED) phase, crucial for advancing to final investment decision (FID). This infrastructure is part of the H2Med corridor, aimed at connecting green hydrogen production in Spain to France's industrial centers.

The BarMar project, a 400km subsea hydrogen pipeline between Spain and France, has entered the FEED phase, finalizing design and permitting preparations. This phase follows successful early engineering studies and aims to facilitate a future final investment decision (FID).
The project, which targets commercial operations by 2032, is led by Enagás, NaTran, and Teréga. As a European Project of Common Interest, BarMar has received €35.56m in Connecting Europe Facility funding. Its development is critical for integrating low-cost green hydrogen into European energy systems, enhancing energy security and supporting decarbonization efforts.
