Spalding County BOC to Consider Fourth Data Center Proposal on May 28
The Spalding County Board of Commissioners will assess a proposed data center campus on May 28, following a unanimous recommendation for denial from the Planning and Appeals Commission. The proposed development, spanning 292.41 acres, could yield significant local tax revenues and job creation, contingent on the approval of various zoning amendments.

The Spalding County Board of Commissioners will evaluate a proposed data center campus at their May 28 meeting, despite a Planning and Appeals Commission recommendation for denial of a Future Land Use Map amendment. The development by Industrial VI Enterprises LLC aims to construct a 75 South Data Center Campus on 292.41 acres with seven buildings totaling 2.24 million square feet and a separate power station, potentially generating 200 jobs and $86.3 million in annual local tax revenue.
The timeline indicates that land disturbance permits may be issued by April 2027, with the final building expected to be completed by August 2030. The developer seeks to rezone the property from AR-1 and R-2 to C-1C and has requested variances concerning building height and wetlands protections. The project also includes environmental considerations regarding wetlands and proximity to a former landfill.
