The Spotsylvania County Planning Commission recommended a Special Use Permit (SUP) for data centers after the board of supervisors voted to eliminate by-right development. Developers like KETTLER, which is building the Crossroads Technology Park, are concerned about the implications for their projects.
KETTLER's Kyle Crosby argued for grandfathering existing site plans submitted before the supervisors' January 13 request for a review. The commission's recommendation passed 5-2, with some members expressing frustration over repeated discussions. The board will consider this recommendation on February 24.
