SRM University-AP and JK Srivastava Hynfra Establish Centre of Excellence for Green Hydrogen Technologies
SRM University-AP has partnered with JK Srivastava Hynfra P.S.A. Ltd to establish a Centre of Excellence for Green Hydrogen Technologies, aiming to position Andhra Pradesh as India's Green Hydrogen Hub by 2030. The initiative, backed by a ₹35,000 crore investment, will focus on hydrogen storage, transportation, and the development of hydrogen-powered vehicles, with plans to produce 1.5 MMTPA of green hydrogen and create over 10,000 jobs. This collaboration was announced during the Green Hydrogen Summit in July 2025, where SRM University-AP was appointed as the state nodal agency for hydrogen research.

SRM University-AP has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JK Srivastava Hynfra P.S.A. Ltd to establish a Centre of Excellence for Green Hydrogen Technologies. This initiative supports Andhra Pradesh's aim to become India's Green Hydrogen Hub by 2030, targeting production of 1.5 MMTPA of green hydrogen.
The Centre will focus on hydrogen storage, transportation, and the development of hydrogen-powered vehicles. JK Srivastava Group's investment of ₹35,000 crore aims to set up a green ammonia industry by 2029, generating over 10,000 jobs.
The collaboration was announced at the Green Hydrogen Summit in July 2025, where SRM University-AP was designated as the state nodal agency for hydrogen research. The project includes developing advanced catalysts for electrolysis and exploring alternative water sources for hydrogen production.
