SSE Secures Capacity Agreements in Ireland's T-4 Auction for 2029/30
SSE has provisionally obtained 553 MW of flexible generation capacity agreements in Ireland's latest T-4 auction for 2029/30. The total awarded capacity reached 3,682 MW, pending approval from Regulatory Authorities by May 2026.

In Ireland's T-4 capacity auction for the delivery year 2029/30, SSE has secured contracts amounting to 553 MW of de-rated electricity generation capacity. This includes a five-year agreement for 342 MW from the Great Island Power Station, valued at €142,620/MW, enabling SSE to enhance flexible power generation capabilities.
Additionally, a 10-year contract for 13 MW from the Platin Power Station, currently under construction, is valued at €150,000/MW, complementing its existing 140 MW agreement at €177,000/MW. The auction awarded a total of 3,682 MW, with results pending Regulatory Authorities' approval expected in May 2026. The agreements support the need for reliable energy supply, particularly as SSE's plants can adapt to various fuels, including future low-carbon hydrogen.
