Stadtwerke Düsseldorf Receives 2MW PEM Electrolyser for Local Hydrogen Infrastructure
Stadtwerke Düsseldorf has received a 2 MW PEM electrolyser, marking a significant step towards developing a climate-friendly hydrogen infrastructure. This electrolyser will supply green hydrogen to the existing filling station on Höherweg and is part of Düsseldorf's goal for climate neutrality by 2035. The project utilizes biogenic electricity from a waste incineration plant, promoting local energy generation and sustainable urban development.

Stadtwerke Düsseldorf has delivered a 2 MW PEM electrolyser to enhance its hydrogen infrastructure, aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2035. This electrolyser will provide green hydrogen to the local filling station on Höherweg, supporting public transport and heavy delivery traffic.
The electrolyser utilizes biogenic electricity from the waste incineration plant, facilitating local energy generation and a circular economy. The system's modular design allows for scalable expansion up to 50 MW.
The project serves as a model for other municipalities aiming for an independent, renewable hydrogen supply. Installation and commissioning of the electrolyser will soon enable regular green hydrogen production.
