Stadtwerke Lübeck has launched its first data center after investing a low single-digit million euro amount. The facility aims to secure local data sovereignty and improve resilience for businesses and public administration. Demand for services is high, with nearly all slots occupied in the first development phase. The data center will utilize two 100kW heat and power plants and solar panels, while plans for expansion are underway to triple capacity for high-performance computing and AI applications.
