STANLIB to Acquire Stake in Cassava Data Centres to Support Digital Infrastructure Expansion in South Africa
STANLIB Asset Management has received approval from the Competition Tribunal to acquire a significant stake in Cassava Africa Data Centres, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies. The acquisition aims to enhance digital infrastructure and cloud demand in Africa. Cassava operates three data centers in South Africa with a total capacity of 30 MW, and a fourth 20 MW data center is under construction in Cape Town.

STANLIB Asset Management, through STANLIB Infrastructure Fund II, is set to acquire a substantial stake in Cassava Africa Data Centres, pending approval from the Competition Tribunal. This investment aims to bolster digital infrastructure and cloud service demand across Africa. Cassava operates three data centers in South Africa located in Johannesburg-Midrand, Centurion, and Cape Town, totaling 30 MW of capacity, with an additional 20 MW data center currently under construction in Cape Town.
