Statera Energy has obtained planning approval for a 500MW battery project, Sundon Storage, in Central Bedfordshire. The project will be located southwest of the Sundon National Grid substation and is part of the Long Duration Energy Storage scheme.

Construction is expected to begin later this decade, with full operation by 2030. This approval increases Statera's total consented storage and flexibility projects to over 5GW.
