Stellantis Unveils Strategic Plan for Fiat 500 Electric Transformation
Stellantis plans a technical evolution for the Fiat 500 electric vehicle, with an investment of €100 million for new battery technology. A hybrid version will be introduced to maintain production amid declining sales, with a complete redesign expected by 2030.

Stellantis has announced a strategic plan to revitalize the Fiat 500 electric vehicle, which has seen a significant drop in sales from 65,000 units in 2023 to a projected 24,000 in 2025. An investment of €100 million will be directed towards integrating lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, with a new model set to launch in 2027 and a complete redesign anticipated by 2030.
To address current production challenges, a hybrid variant will be introduced. The Mirafiori plant in Italy aims to assemble over 100,000 vehicles in 2026, supported by new hires and an additional production line. This transition is crucial for maintaining competitiveness in the affordable EV segment.
