STMicroelectronics and Amazon Web Services Expand Collaboration on High-Performance Cloud Computing Infrastructure
STMicroelectronics has expanded its strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services through a multi-billion dollar commitment. This collaboration focuses on enhancing high-performance computing infrastructure for cloud and AI applications. STMicroelectronics will supply advanced semiconductor technologies, including high-bandwidth connectivity solutions and energy-efficient power ICs. The partnership aims to address the increasing demand for specialized computing chips and includes the co-development of a photonic chip for AI workloads.

STMicroelectronics has significantly expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a multi-year, multi-billion USD engagement to enhance high-performance computing infrastructure for cloud and AI data centers. This partnership positions ST as a key supplier of advanced semiconductor technologies for AWS, enabling new high-performance compute instances and improved scalability for compute-intensive workloads.
ST will provide solutions including high-bandwidth connectivity, mixed-signal processing, and energy-efficient power ICs. The collaboration also includes the co-development of a photonic chip aimed at achieving optical interconnect speeds of 800Gbps and 1.6Tbps for AI and HPC applications. This investment reflects both companies' commitment to addressing the growing demand for advanced computing solutions in the AI sector.
