Stuttgart Begins Construction of Green Hydrogen Pipeline
Stadtwerke Stuttgart has initiated construction on a hydrogen pipeline in Stuttgart districts Wangen, Hedelfingen, and Ost, part of the Green Hydrogen Hub. This project aims to produce up to 1,200 tons of green hydrogen annually, utilizing renewable energy sources for its production.

The construction of a hydrogen pipeline in Stuttgart, covering approximately four kilometers, has commenced, targeting completion within one year. This project, part of the Green Hydrogen Hub Stuttgart, will facilitate the distribution of high-purity green hydrogen produced in the Stuttgarter Hafen.
Notably, Stuttgart Netze GmbH is also laying new 110-kV high-voltage cables alongside the pipeline to enhance infrastructure efficiency. The Green Hydrogen Hub is designed to produce up to 1,200 tons of green hydrogen annually, certified under Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO). Funding is sourced from the European Regional Development Fund, the state of Baden-Württemberg, and the Verband Region Stuttgart.
