Sudan Energy Minister Inspects Electricity Facilities in Khartoum
Sudan's Energy Minister Al-Mu'tasim Ibrahim Ahmed inspected key electricity facilities in Khartoum, noting that work is nearing completion at sites like the Al-Riyadh Distribution Office and Al-Faroug Conversion Station. He praised the staff's efforts and highlighted the importance of enhancing power restoration for returning residents, while also discussing strategies to boost electricity production and expedite maintenance with sector leaders. The minister urged citizens to utilize official channels for electricity connections.

Energy Minister Al-Mu'tasim Ibrahim Ahmed inspected key electricity facilities in Khartoum, including the Al-Riyadh Distribution Office, Al-Faroug Conversion Station, and the Sudanese Hydropower Generation Company. Work at these facilities is nearing completion, serving large areas of East Khartoum such as Al-Sahafa and Khartoum 3.
The minister commended staff for their efforts and confirmed the readiness of administrative offices, emphasizing the need for intensified efforts in Khartoum's reconstruction and power restoration for returning residents. Additionally, a meeting with electricity sector leaders addressed boosting production, expanding hydropower and thermal generation, and expediting maintenance and new transformer installations, while urging citizens to use official channels for electricity connections.
