Sun Village and DAIHEN Collaborate on Grid-Scale Battery Storage Development
Sun Village and DAIHEN will jointly develop approximately 2.4 GWh of grid-scale battery energy storage systems, starting in 2026. This partnership aims to enhance renewable energy integration and support a decarbonized society through reliable battery solutions.

Sun Village Co., Ltd. and DAIHEN Corporation are advancing a partnership to develop grid-scale battery energy storage systems, targeting a total capacity of 2.4 GWh. The initiative will utilize DAIHEN's domestically produced battery package, featuring components like power conditioning systems and energy management systems that have received JC-STAR★1 certification, which will become mandatory in April 2027.
The project includes plans for six high-voltage battery systems in FY2025 and over 70 projects in FY2026. Sun Village aims for 250 sites and 500 MW output nationwide, contributing to renewable energy adoption and a decarbonized society.
