Sunfire Launches 50MW Alkaline Electrolyzer for Large-Scale Hydrogen Projects
Sunfire has introduced the HyLink® Alkaline 23, a 50MW electrolyzer system that can reduce installation costs by up to 50%. This innovation is key for scaling hydrogen production in energy-intensive industries and aims to support larger projects effectively.

Sunfire's new HyLink® Alkaline 23 system is a 50MW alkaline electrolyzer designed for large-scale hydrogen projects, promising to cut total installed costs by up to 50%. This modular design incorporates ten 5MW pressurized alkaline stacks and facilitates outdoor deployment, eliminating the need for dedicated infrastructure.
The system's higher operating pressure at 30 bar significantly reduces downstream compression needs. Sunfire's recent contract to supply 100MW for Repsol projects in Spain, expected to be commissioned by 2029, reflects the growing demand for efficient green hydrogen solutions. The shift to standardized electrolyzer systems among manufacturers like Longi and Nel indicates a trend towards minimizing costs and risks in hydrogen production.
