Sweden Designates Häggån Project as National Interest Mining Asset
The Swedish Geological Survey has proposed designating the Häggån polymetallic project as a deposit of national interest, enhancing its legal protection against obstructive activities. This designation is significant for Aura Energy, consolidating the project's strategic importance in the context of critical mineral supply for Sweden and Europe.

The Häggån polymetallic project has been proposed for designation as a deposit of national interest by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU), following an assessment of its strategic importance for critical minerals. This designation may afford legal protections against activities that could hinder mining operations.
The project hosts an inferred resource of 800 million pounds of U3O8 and a total resource of 1.96 billion tons, including vanadium and other minerals. A scoping study indicates a post-tax NPV ranging from US$380 million to US$1.606 billion, with an estimated CAPEX of US$592 million.
Regulatory uncertainty remains due to simultaneous inquiries regarding municipal vetoes impacting mining activities. The recognition of Häggån's potential underscores its significance in supporting Sweden's mineral self-reliance.
