Swissgrid Issues Tender for Data Center Rack Installations and Fiber Optic Cabling in Switzerland
Swissgrid, Switzerland's grid operator, has launched a three-year tender for server rack installations in its data centers. The contract includes the supply of materials such as fiber optic and copper cabling. Swissgrid manages the country's 6,700 km extra-high-voltage grid and has two data centers in operation since 2018. It has identified 31 necessary upgrades to the electricity transmission network, estimated to cost CHF 5.5 billion by 2040, to accommodate increasing national demand.

Swissgrid has invited bids for a three-year contract for the installation of server racks in its data centers in Switzerland. The tender encompasses the supply of materials, including fiber optic and copper cabling.
