Swissgrid has invited bids for a three-year contract for the installation of server racks in its data centers in Switzerland. The tender encompasses the supply of materials, including fiber optic and copper cabling.

Swissgrid manages a 6,700-kilometer extra-high-voltage grid and operates two data centers since 2018. The firm has identified 31 upgrades to the electricity transmission network, estimated at CHF 5.5 billion, needed by 2040 to meet rising demand for data centers, heat pumps, and electric vehicles. This collaboration with external service providers aims to ensure operational efficiency and security.
