Switch Plans 382-Acre Data Center Campus Near Pittsburgh, PA
Switch is set to develop a 382-acre data center campus in Big Beaver Borough, Pennsylvania, aimed at enhancing local infrastructure. This investment underscores a broader trend of data center expansion in the region, with potential economic benefits for Beaver County.

Switch will construct a new data center campus spanning 382 acres in Big Beaver Borough, Beaver County, approximately 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The facility will feature a closed-loop cooling system, designed to recycle water and minimize consumption for cooling operations.
In December 2022, Switch became a private entity after an $11 billion acquisition by DigitalBridge and IFM Investors. Additionally, Aware Super invested $500 million into Switch in 2023. The presence of other developers such as Aligned and a recent land acquisition by Provident for potential data center projects indicates a growing interest in Beaver County's data center capabilities.
