Syensqo and Climate Impulse Reach Milestone in Hydrogen-Powered Aviation Project
Syensqo celebrates two years of collaboration with Climate Impulse, advancing towards a zero-emission, round-the-world flight powered by green hydrogen. The partnership has achieved significant milestones, including the integration of Syensqo's Aquivion® polymer into the aircraft's fuel cell system and the manufacturing of major aircraft components in France. Initial test flights are planned in Châteauroux, France, after the completion of the aircraft by the end of 2026. The collaboration highlights the potential of lightweight materials in achieving sustainable aviation.

Syensqo and Climate Impulse are progressing towards a zero-emission, round-the-world flight powered by green hydrogen, marking two years of collaboration. Key achievements include the successful validation of Syensqo's Aquivion® ion-exchange polymer for the aircraft's fuel cell system and the manufacturing of core structures using advanced composite materials in Les Sables d'Olonnes, France.
The project is set to complete aircraft assembly by late 2026 with initial test flights in Châteauroux. Syensqo's green hydrogen laboratory in Bollate, Italy, supports research and testing across the hydrogen value chain, enhancing development and reducing risk.
