Symrise Wins Global L'Oréal Sustainable Sourcing Energy Award 2026
Symrise received the 'Global L'Oréal Sustainable Sourcing Energy Award 2026' for its circular process in hydrogen utilization, enhancing resource efficiency in cosmetic production. This recognition highlights the company's commitment to decarbonization and sustainable sourcing practices within the beauty industry.

Symrise has been awarded the 'Global L'Oréal Sustainable Sourcing Energy Award 2026' in the 'Pioneering' category for its 'Closing the Hydrogen Loop' project. This initiative significantly reduces the need for fresh hydrogen by capturing and recycling hydrogen used in producing Hydrolite® 5 green, leading to an 80% decrease in fresh hydrogen consumption and 98% reintegration into production.
The circular process not only lowers Scope-1 emissions but also enhances resource efficiency. The technology is already in use at the Granada production facility, demonstrating potential scalability for other hydrogen-intensive processes in the cosmetics industry, contributing to carbon reduction efforts.
