Syntropic Power Launches Sodium-Ion Energy Storage Systems to Meet U.S. Demand
Syntropic Power, formerly Emtel Energy USA, has rebranded and launched three energy storage systems aimed at the U.S. market. The products include GridSurge for short-duration storage, GridSpan for long-duration storage, and Tenet for residential use. The company focuses on safety and reliability, utilizing sodium-ion technology to reduce thermal risks common with lithium-ion systems. Syntropic is building capacity for 2 GWh of projects in 2026 and is conducting independent safety testing at Rochester Institute of Technology's Battery Development Center.

Syntropic Power, previously Emtel Energy USA, has announced its rebranding and the launch of three sodium-ion energy storage product lines: GridSurge, GridSpan, and Tenet. The systems target short- and long-duration storage needs in the U.S. market, emphasizing safety and bankability.
Syntropic is developing up to 2 GWh of projects for 2026 and has completed UL 9540A fire safety testing. An independent testing program at Rochester Institute of Technology's Battery Development Center will validate performance and safety data. Commercial deployment is expected to follow proof of concept pilots in mid-2026.
