T-Mobile US is implementing AI-driven network automation to improve service quality and customer experience. The company's strategy includes tracking application responsiveness, upload success, video quality, and net promoter scores, moving beyond traditional network indicators.
T-Mobile is involved in the TM Forum-hosted Agentic NOC project, utilizing AI agents for network automation across various functions. The framework has three levels: automated alarm monitoring, root-cause analysis, and human oversight for live network changes.
An example of this is the Dynamic CX system, which executed over 11,000 automated optimizations during the FIFA World Cup, managing 2.26 million fan connections. T-Mobile is also developing AI-native Live Translation services and exploring AI-RAN, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and reduce customer friction.
