Taiwan Achieves 500th Offshore Wind Turbine; Waaree Renewable Delays APSPL Acquisition
Taiwan has installed its 500th offshore wind turbine, reaching a total capacity of 4.8 GW. Waaree Renewable Technologies has postponed the acquisition of Associated Power Structures by two weeks, now expected by June 30, 2026.

Taiwan's completion of its 500th offshore wind turbine marks a significant milestone, increasing its total installed capacity to 4.8 GW. By 2026, Taiwan is projected to rank third globally in new offshore wind capacity and fifth overall.
Despite external challenges, including the pandemic and inflation, Taiwan has achieved this in just ten years, contrasting with the 20-30 years typical in Europe. In a separate development, Waaree Renewable Technologies has delayed the acquisition of Associated Power Structures, now expected to finalize by June 30, 2026.
This acquisition, initially announced in January, aims to enhance Waaree's capabilities in solar infrastructure and is critical as India ramps up investments in grid infrastructure. The delay is administrative, with no strategic implications noted, as Waaree continues to expand its renewable energy operations.
