Task Force SAFE Transferred to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District
Task Force SAFE, part of the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, has been transferred to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Middle East District. Activated in August 2008 to address fatal incidents in Iraq, the task force focuses on mitigating electrical and fire hazards for U.S. and coalition forces. It has reduced electrical fire incidents by 94% and electrical shock incidents by 92%, achieving zero fatalities. The realignment aims to enhance operational efficiency in support of U.S. Central Command.
