Tata Group Targets 2 Million Vehicles, Introduces Hydrogen Buses from Lucknow Plant
Tata Group plans to produce 2 million vehicles in five years, including hydrogen-powered buses and trucks from its Lucknow facility. This initiative aligns with India's ambitions for economic growth and the state's target of becoming a USD 6 trillion economy.

Tata Group, under Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, aims to roll out 2 million vehicles over the next five years, including hydrogen-powered buses and trucks from its Lucknow facility. This announcement coincided with the celebration of the 10 lakhth vehicle rollout from the plant, marking a significant milestone in Tata's industrial partnership with Uttar Pradesh.
The Lucknow facility, which started operations in 1992, is projected to produce the next million vehicles at an accelerated pace. Additionally, Tata Consultancy Services plans to increase its workforce in Uttar Pradesh from 20,000 to 40,000 in five years.
An AI technology center of excellence will be established in Gorakhpur to foster industrial and social transformation. These developments reflect Tata's commitment to align with India's vision for economic progress by 2047.
