Tata Power-DDL Prepares for Summer Peak Power Demand in Delhi with 2900 MW Capacity
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited anticipates a peak load of 2622 MW this summer, with preparations in place for up to 2900 MW. The company has implemented measures including Bilateral Agreements, Battery Energy Storage Systems, advanced technologies, and enhanced maintenance protocols to ensure reliable power supply during peak demand. Additional initiatives include commissioning new transformers and predictive maintenance of electrical installations.

To ensure reliable power supply, the company has established Bilateral Agreements and Reserve Shutdown mechanisms, and utilizes Battery Energy Storage Systems at Rohini.
Technologies such as Machine Learning forecasting and Integrated Digital Energy Portfolio Management are in use. Measures include commissioning new transformers, preventive maintenance, and deployment of mobile transformers for emergencies. Additional staff and dedicated teams for breakdown response have been arranged to maintain service continuity.
