Tecto to Invest R$ 200 Million in TPOA1 Data Center in Porto Alegre, Brazil
Tecto Data Centers will invest R$ 200 million to establish the TPOA1 data center in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The 33,000 square meter facility will have a total capacity of 20 MW and connect to the Malbec submarine cable.
The first phase, delivering 3 MW, is set to begin operations in Q4 2026. The project involves retrofitting an existing structure to meet high-performance data center standards. The TPOA1 will utilize 100% renewable energy and an air-cooling system with zero water consumption.
The center aims to serve big tech companies and enhance digital infrastructure in southern Brazil. The Malbec cable spans 2,500 km, linking major cities including Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires, with a branch to Porto Alegre expected in 2027.
