Temporary Closure of 76th Avenue SW for Bridge Upgrades in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
76th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids will be closed for about a week starting Monday for bridge improvements. Local access to homes will remain open. A detour will direct traffic south on Lefebure Road to Wright Brothers Boulevard, east to Cherry Valley Road, and north back to 76th Avenue. The project, funded by QTS as part of its data center initiative, includes adding support piers to allow the bridge to carry all legal loads and most overweight vehicles.

Starting Monday, 76th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids will close to through traffic for approximately one week due to bridge upgrades. Local access to nearby homes will remain available. A detour will guide drivers south on Lefebure Road to Wright Brothers Boulevard, east to Cherry Valley Road, and north back to 76th Avenue.
The upgrades are funded by QTS as part of its data center project, with inspections provided by Linn County. Crews will add new support piers to enable the bridge to carry all legal loads and most overweight vehicles once completed.
