Tennessee State University Secures $1 Million Grant for Robotics and AI Laboratory from U.S. Department of War
Tennessee State University (TSU) has received a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of War to establish the Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Visualization, and Simulation (RAIVS) Laboratory. This initiative aims to enhance educational programs in Human-Machine Teaming (HMT) skills, preparing students for technology-driven careers. The lab will integrate advanced technologies into curricula, providing hands-on experience and addressing workforce demands in robotics and AI.

Tennessee State University (TSU) has been awarded a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of War to create the Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Visualization, and Simulation (RAIVS) Laboratory. The lab will focus on Human-Machine Teaming (HMT) skills, integrating advanced robotics and AI into existing engineering curricula.
Faculty across various engineering disciplines will collaborate on this project, which aims to enhance instructional quality and research. The funding will facilitate the acquisition of advanced equipment, such as a driving simulator, to improve student learning and prepare graduates for the evolving technological landscape. The initiative will also address ethical considerations in AI and automation.
